Late 1940's, Thomas T. Goldsmith and Estle R. Mann invented a device they called Cathode-Ray Tube Amusement Device. A device people can use to play basic games but it wasn't popular. In 1958 William higinbotham invented a electronic game called tennis for two. But again it wasn't popular.
The first true video game wouldn't have been invented until 1967 by an engineer named Ralph H. Baer. Baer made the first prototype which will eventually become the Magnovox Odyssey the world's first video game console.
